CatholicCare has been the public face of professional caring services and assistance provided by the Catholic Diocese of Broken Bay since 1987. We have a range of programs and services available to assist children, young people, individuals and families. Our service includes Family Centres and outreach locations in Northern Sydney (including the Northern Beaches) and the Central Coast (as far as Lake Munmorah).
CatholicCare programs are funded by NSW and Australian Governments through a number of Departments, including: the NSW Community Services (CS), Ageing Disability and Home Care (ADHC), Health, the Legal Aid Commission of NSW, the Australian Government Departments of Education Employment and Workplace Relations (DEEWR), Families Housing Community Services and Indigenous Affairs (FaHCSIA), and Health and Ageing (DoHA).
Financial support for CatholicCare services is also provided by the Catholic Diocese of Broken Bay (via the twice yearly Charitable Works Fund) and the Australian Catholic Bishops Conference. Our relationship with other Churches in addition to private donors provides valued support to enable CatholicCare to reach out widely into our local communities.
During the 12 month period 2010-2011 CatholicCare provided services for over 15,500 children, young people, individuals and families throughout the geographical area of the Diocese of Broken Bay. As part of this number we worked directly with 2,451 children and young people and their families, 1,200 carers who have a child (or adult child) with a disability living at home, and 20 fostering families.
