About CatholicCare in Broken Bay

CatholicCare has been the public face of professional caring services and assistance provided by the Catholic Diocese of Broken Bay since 1987. We have a range of programs and services available to assist children, young people, individuals and families. Our service includes Family Centres and outreach locations in Northern Sydney (including the Northern Beaches) and the Central Coast (as far as Lake Munmorah).

CatholicCare programs are funded by NSW and Australian Government Departments, including: in NSW Family and Community Services (FaCS) - Community Services (CS) and Ageing Disability and Home Care (ADHC), Fair Trading, Health, and Legal Aid Commission; and the Australian Government Departments of Education Employment and Workplace Relations (DEEWR), and Social Services.

Financial support for CatholicCare services is also provided by the Catholic Diocese of Broken Bay (via the twice yearly Charitable Works Fund) and the Australian Catholic Bishops Conference. Our relationship with other Churches in addition to private donors provides valued support to enable CatholicCare to reach out widely into our local communities.

During the 12 month period 2012-2013 CatholicCare provided services for over 20,000 children, young people, individuals and families throughout the geographical area of the Diocese of Broken Bay. This number included 7,000+ children and 12,000+ families, 692 children and adults affected by disability, 3,000+ patients in acute care hospitals, and 66 children and young people in foster care and therapeutic group care.
